I am tryiing to decide between a 72" diesel Yazoo front mount mower from www.easternfarmmachinery.com or a tractor for an 8 acre lawn with lots of trees. I might want to add a snowblower later which I am told I can do with either.Any suggestions. Thanks

I live on 7 acres with a LOT of trees. I have tried all kinds of mowers. The first was an old New Holland with 4' deck. Fine machine if not many trees. Same as Case 444 with 44' deck, and Yanmar with 5' rear mt. finish mower. All took about 13 hours to mow. I now use an old Yazoo with a 60" deck cut my mowing time down to about 3.5 hours. I have heard of snow blowers on Yazoos but my poor traction mowing leads me to believe that any real snow would be a problem. Good luck, Hal ....

i have owned 4 yazoo mowers over the years. for strictly mowing they are virtually unbeatable. ihave also had jacobsen, toro, grasshopper, exmark and others. i would hesitate to recommend yazoo for snowblowing due to the traction problem. for mowing around trees yazoo is the way to go ....
